Can New Year's Eve be a learning experience? You bet - tango lessons will be offered prior to the NYE Tango Party at Dance Manhattan Studios. In its third year, the Celebrate Tango-sponsored party offers a fun, friendly and surprisingly inexpensive way to ring in 2005.
You get a chance to socialize, listen to a live tango orchestra and dance the night away. No Times Square? No problem, as you can enjoy the ball dropping countdown on the projection screen and toast to New Year's without the bathroom worries. Those who aren't familiar with tango can learn a few dancefloor moves at the 8-10 PM basic class for only an extra $20/person.
The entertainment begins with a live tango band and singer Chris Vasquez on the 5th floor, followed by tango DJ Beatriz Cisneros. The 6th floor will also feature ballroom music with DJ Ellis Green.
Everyone is welcome to stay for breakfast before the party wraps up at 5 AM.
