Who is NYCNYE?
NYCNYE is a one-stop shop for browsing, planning and purchasing tickets to New Year's Eve events in New York City. It is a joint venture between TVI Designs and Funk This Entertainment, two businesses active in the web marketing and event planning industries of New York.
Why are you using the Question & Answer format for your privacy policy?
The point of this section is to make you feel more secure about NYCNYE and our practices. We know you don't have the time and patience to read through 17 pages of legal jargon, so we made sure to be both relevant and succinct in our approach.
How do I opt-out of NYCNYE's Newsletter or Group Planning service?
You can opt-out of the NYCNYE Newsletter by clicking the Unsubscribe link at the top panel of the Newsletter or by e-mailing celebrate@nycnye.com with your Full Name and E-mail Address. If you have registered for our Group Planning service, you can cancel your account anytime by visiting the My Account area, granted that you are logged in.
To make sure that you really want to receive notifications from NYCNYE, we require all new accounts to confirm their registrations, a process known as double opt-in.
How are you using the information I provide in my Newsletter profile?
All personal information collected by NYCNYE will be used for the following purposes:
You have the option to provide us with your Phone Number; it will only be used in emergency situations pertaining to your ticket purchase(s).
We will use your First Name to personalize our e-mail notifications to you.
We will use your unique personal information (Physical Address, First Name, Last Name, E-mail Address) in the content of your personalized E-ticket once you have made a purchase through the Web Site.
A full demographic analysis of the Web Site's subscribers will be conducted in January 2005. We will only use your Date of Birth, City, Country and Gender in this evaluation.
How are you using the information I provide in my Group Planning profile?
Your Event Preferences will only be available to other members of your group for the purpose of selecting a New Year's Eve event to attend together.
Your First Name, Last Name and E-mail Address will be visible to all members of your group for ease of contact.
Your First Name will be used to personalize all group invitations, where you will be also be asked to enter the First Name, Last Name and E-mail Address of your invitees.
Your E-Mail Address and Password will be used by you to log in to the Group Planning service.
How secure is your payment processing service?
All our ticket transactions are securely handled by Paypal, a leader in online payment management with over 50 million user accounts worldwide. You can view Paypal's Privacy Policy here. Paypal's Privacy Policy and operations have also been reviewed and approved by TRUSTe, independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to enabling individuals and organizations to establish trusting relationships based on respect for personal identity and information.
How secure is my personal information on NYCNYE?
NYCNYE carefully follows the best online security practices that are currently available to protect your privacy. Your Group Planning account is password-protected and all of your personal information is stored within our monitored database. New group members are also asked to provide the unique Group ID prior to joining your group. Although your personal information is only used and held privately by NYCNYE, we cannot guarantee complete security.
Are you making my personal information available to anyone else?
We do not make your personal information available to any third-party mailing lists as it is exclusively used within the scope of this project by NYCNYE.
Are your outbound links bound by your privacy policy?
No, this privacy policy only applies to information collected by NYCNYE and the Web Site. The purchase instructions for an event publicized by NYCNYE may require you to leave the Web Site. NYCNYE is not responsible for the privacy practices of these web sites. It is up to you to carefully review the privacy policies of the web sites prior to making your purchases.
Are you tracking my online behavior upon my arrival at NYCNYE?
If you have been directed to NYCNYE via a major search engine, we do track whether you create a new account or purchase tickets during your initial visit. This information is used for financial purposes, pertaining only to the analysis of our advertising budget and return on investment.
We also store your visitor information, including your IP Address, date/time of visit, Internet browser and referring website, in our server log files. These files are accessed once a month to safeguard us against click fraud, a major issue facing all online businesses these days. Click fraud is a series of unwanted and falsely-generated clicks that have been paid for without the knowledge of any wrongdoing. This information is stored for all visitors, including those that have not created NYCNYE.com accounts.
