Purchasing
Pre-Purchase

Do I have to create an account with NYCNYE to purchase tickets?

No, we do not require that you create an account with us to make a purchase for New York City's New Year's Eve events. The only account you will be asked to create on our site is when you decide to plan New Year's day or night with friends and family.

Can someone buy a ticket for me?

Your friends and family can buy you tickets via NYCNYE, but you must understand that the person whose name appears on the e-ticket must be present at event with the rest of the group. You cannot buy a ticket and pass it on to another person to be used.

What methods of payment do you support?

We support all major credit card and Paypal payments.

Why do you ask me for my phone number?

Your phone number is stored by NYCNYE in case there is a problem with your individual ticket or a major announcement must be made regarding the event you are attending.

Post-Purchase

What kind of ticket will I be receiving?

All of our tickets are automatically generated e-tickets which must be printed from our website. We do not mail any other kind of tickets or allow for tickets to be picked up at a box-office.

How do I receive my e-ticket?

You will receive your ticket by printing it from our website after you have finalized your online purchase. If you make your purchase without a Paypal account, you MUST click 'Return to Merchant' to return to NYCNYE.com. If you have a Paypal account, you will automatically be redirected to NYCNYE.com. Upon returning to our site you will be able to print your e-ticket and will also receive a confirmation with a link to your e-ticket in case you are unable to print initially.

I wasn't redirected to your e-ticket printing center after my purchase. What do I do?

You can e-mail us at ticketing@nycnye.com, and we will investigate your situation further.

What do I need to bring with me to the event I am attending?

You need to bring a valid e-ticket, form of identification and must conform to the evening's dress code. If the event has an age restriction, you are responsible for providing a valid form of identification.

Can people in my group arrive separately?

No, everyone must arrive together with the person whose name is printed on the e-ticket.

What is your Refund Policy?

All ticket sales are final and non-transferable. Refunds, including handling charges, will only be issued in case the Event is fully cancelled. Your original receipt must be e-mailed to refunds@nycnye.com within 30 days of the Event for refund eligibility.

What time should I arrive at my event?

For obvious reasons, we suggest early arrival. Remember, it's New Year's Eve in NYC and line ups sometimes get long ... and cold.

Browsing
How do you choose events for inclusion in NYCNYE?

We carefully review New Year's Eve events that cater to all age groups at all prices. Our editorial team then selects the events which it believes will offer a unique a memorable experience to event-goers. We do not list any typical New Year's event which may for example simply be throwing an open bar party. Each of our events has something special going on, something different than your average New Year's party.

How do you categorize New York's New Year's Eve events?

We place events in 5 main categories: Restaurants, Bars and Lounges, Clubs, Live Entertainment and Special Interest. You can use our simple search function on the left of every page to search events by Age, Category and Price. You can also enter specific keywords such as "children" or "cruise" for a highly targeted search.

Do these events have age restrictions? What if I'm traveling with family?

We have made sure to provide our visitors with events that appeal to both children and adults. Whether you are looking to find a cozy, romantic spot or an entertaining production for the entire family, you will find it here.

How often do you add events and how do I stay updated?

We add events almost daily, as soon as the venues provide us with all the information needed to complete their profiles and our team has approved the event for listing. You can stay up to date by receiving our event updates by email. Please make sure to add celebrate@nycnye.com to your Address Book or Whitelist so you don't miss any of our e-mails.

How can I find out more about each venue?

You can click on Venue Info inside each event profile. The Photos tab on the right also allows you to view pictures of the space and events previously held there. If you have further questions about an event or venue you can always contact us.

I am not too familiar with New York. Where can I find a Subway Map?

The good folks at MTA Transit have a handy subway map right here.

I would like to forward NYCNYE.com or a particular event to a few friends. Can you help?

If you are planning New Year's Eve with a group, we suggest that you try our easy-to-use Planning Area. In this area, you will be able to register as an organizer and send out invitations within minutes. Better yet, your group members will actually be able to vote on events based on your recommendations. If you'd rather not register for anything, please use our standard forwarding feature.

I can't find anything that interests me. Can you still help me?

We can't make any promises, but again you are more than welcome to contact us with details of what you are looking for and we will do our best to find you such an event. You should hear from us within 24 hours.

Planning
What is the purpose of the Planning area of NYCNYE? How does it work?

This area is designed to simplify the research, recommendation and decision-making process on New Year's Eve in New York for groups of people. It relies on those individuals willing to take the initiative in becoming Group Organizers and allowing us to help them coordinate the night. The Group Organizer is expected to easily research events through the Browse area, invite friends, and based on the group's preferences, make 3 recommendations. Group Members are then asked to cast their vote on the event to attend, and as a group, a final decision will be made as to which event to attend.

How do I take advantage of Group Planning?

You can click on the Plan tab above and create a new account as a Group Organizer. Otherwise wait for an invitation from a Group Organizer and then create an account as a Group Member.

Are group discounts offered via NYCNYE?

Yes, NYCNYE does offer group discounts, granted that a venue has given us permission to apply group discounts to their event tickets. Group discounts do not apply to all tickets on NYCNYE.

Someone has sent me an unsolicited e-mail using your planning service. What can I do?

If it is not a friend or family member who has invited you to join his/her group, please report the matter immediately to abuse@nycnye.com and attach any relevant documentation. We take these matters very seriously, and you can consult Section 3 of our Terms of Service for more information.

As a Group Organizer I've invited people to join but they haven't yet, why not?

There are several reasons people may not have joined your group.

1. They simply don't want to take part in the party.
2. They've forgotten about the invite in which case we recommend sending a reminder after 3-4 days.
3. They never received your invite because of their email filtering settings. In this case, we recommend contacting people directly at the email address you already invited them to while making sure you provide your Group ID in your direct email. They can register as a Group Member with your Group ID inside the Planning Area.

As a Group Organizer, what happens when I make a decision on an event and do I have to make a decision on an event to purchase tickets?

When you make a decision your group will be sent an email notifiying them of it. They will also see the information displayed on their Finalize page when they log in as a Group Member. You do not have to make a decision to purchase tickets but it is the easiest way of finalizing with a large group of people and instructing everyone on how to purchase them.

As a Group Organizer, I changed my recommendations for the group and now I have to vote again. How come?

Each time you change your recommendations you are basically telling your group you've found 3 better events. Therefore both you and your group are required to vote again on your new recommendations.

As a Group Member can I invite more people to the group?

You cannot directly invite people but you can request an invitation to be made by your Group Organizer.
