About Us

Why NYCNYE?
NYCNYE was founded in 2004 to simplify the process of planning for events in New York City on New Year's Eve. On the busiest night of the year and with so many choices, deciding on what event to attend is often a difficult and confusing task. Making group decisions to spend the night with friends or family makes New Year's planning even more complicated.

Built on a foundation of market research from event-goers and hosts in New York, NYCNYE was established to address the three major aspects of planning a New Year's Eve event: finding events, deciding in groups on which event to attend, and purchasing tickets.

Who is NYCNYE?
NYCNYE is a joint venture between TVI Designs and Funk This Entertainment, two businesses active in the web-marketing and event planning industries of New York.

What is NYCNYE?

Browse

We believe that choice is always good, but too much of it can lead to confusion and indecision. NYCNYE's guide of events acts as an initial filter of New Year's events in New York City. Our editorial team continuously researches various types of events and venues to find hosts that are stepping away from the norm in order to present their customers with a unique and memorable atmosphere.

The area is designed to provide all the necessary information, including details on the event, venue, menus, maps, photos and a creative invitation expressing the feel of the event.

The listings are not geared to appeal to any age group or social class. By offering a wide range of choices, NYCNYE aims to offer something for everyone.

Plan

The group planning feature incorporates the time-tested process of voting while re-introducing it via a new and simple interface for a smooth voyage. Usually, one or two people take the initiative to do the research and present several options to their friends and family. The group then shares their opinions and recommendations, and through the coordination skills of the organizer(s), comes to a decision on the event to attend.

This area is designed to simplify the research, recommendation and decision-making process for groups of people. It relies on those individuals willing to take the initiative in becoming Group Organizers and allowing us to help them coordinate the night. The Group Organizer is expected to easily research events through the Browse area, invite friends, and based on the group's preferences, make 3 recommendations. Group Members are then asked to cast their vote on the event to attend, and as a group, a final decision will be made as to which event to attend.

By simplifying this process, NYCNYE also aims to help people get a better value for their purchase, as they can take advantage of group discounts (if provided by the event).

NYCNYE strives to bring friends and family together for an unforgettable experience, and 'research' tells us that the most memorable and enjoyable nights are spent with friends.

Purchase

The evolution of e-ticketing continues on the Internet, and we have embraced the system with several simple modifications, including convenient e-ticket access and the elimination of multiple tickets for groups.

This easy-to-use area for ticket purchases is fully integrated with Paypal to utilize one of the fastest growing and most trusted transaction processing systems available. For events that do not wish to use online ticketing, the area will easily guide the user with detailed instructions and/or links to purchase tickets.

As a long-term objective of TVI Designs and Funk This Entertainment, NYCNYE aims to help smaller venues in the nightlife and food service industry minimize their marketing costs by taking advantage of new web technologies.
